Spring is in the Air

More birthdays!  This week the birthday girl wants chocolate.  Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.  So that's what I delivered.  Chocolate cake, chocolate icing, topped off with chocolate butterflies.

This is another inspiration found in 'Hello Cupcake!'

Making the butterflies was time consuming, delicate work.... but definitely worth it!

    they're GORGEOUS!! i love them! just wait until Christmas when you start racking it in!

    The butterflies are made out of melting chocolate. I make the butterflies on wax paper and drag a tooth pick through the brown into the orange to create the designs.

    The body of the butterfly is chocolate icing that has been darkened.
